LG counter-depth fridges are compact and offer plenty of space. They're also priced lower than standard-depth French door fridges and can remove the requirement for a separate under-counter freezer. LG Smart Mirror InstaView counter-depth refrigerator (LMWC23626S) is no exception with the capacity of a standard fridge in a sleek, modern design with an internal dispenser for easy access to the water filter.
This model's exterior showcases a fingerprint-resistant stainless steel finish and a mirrored InstaView panel that adds to the modern look of the interior. The refrigerator has door cooling that makes use of vents on the door of the fridge and freezer to allow cold air to enter. It prevents hot spots and helps keep temperatures more uniform throughout the refrigerator.

This LG refrigerator was a standout during our tests. It has ample space to serve a family, but we noticed a few unsettling quirks. First the freezer drawers do not remain as cold as we'd like. The middle drawer sat at 41 degrees during our peak testing, which is warm enough to serve ice cream and other frozen foods. The temperature in the rest of your freezer remained at around 36 degrees.
The doors of the refrigerator also have handles with sunken handles that are difficult for shorter people to close. It may seem like a minor issue but we prefer front mounted handles on refrigerators to make them more convenient to open and close.
This fridge is expensive however it is worth it for those who want a sleek look in their kitchen. We recommend this refrigerator for those looking to upgrade their current refrigerator, or for those who are building a brand new home and want a more integrated design in the kitchen.
Samsung Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
Samsung's latest counter-depth French-door refrigerator model, the RF23M8090SG price tag is $4200. It's a good-looking model that boasts useful features like an autofill water pitcher and a temperature-adjustable "FlexZone" drawer. It also performed well in our cooling tests, although we're not too fond of its gimmicky polygon handles and the crisper bins feel a little flimsy.
One thing that sets the RF23M8090SG apart is its Bespoke line, which lets you customize your fridge with removable colored panels which can be swapped whenever you get tired of the ones you have currently. There are 11 different colors, from soft pastels to more vibrant hues, and four metallic finishes. Some of the panels can be customized by adding photos or text, making the fridge a more personal touch point that will match your tie-dye Crocs, Rick Owens dress or Andy Warhol banana neon sign.
The LED lighting can be switched to a different color which is a nice feature. The interior of the refrigerator has a sleek finish that minimizes smudges, and makes cleaning simpler. The only flaws that really bother the RF23M8090SG is its crowded beverage center, and a little learning curve to open the door-indoor feature, which houses a water dispenser and an ice maker. You need to feel for the lever located on the underside of the door about halfway down. Once you have it the second door opens up within the fridge, containing the docking station for the pitcher and the water dispenser.
The 6.8 cubic foot freezer compartment is large enough to store plenty of frozen food items. This drawer is lockable with a password, so that anyone who isn't a good fit is kept out. It also comes with an efficient LED to help you see what's in it at an instant. Frigidaire Counter Depth French Door Refrigerator
French door refrigerators add a clean design to any kitchen, and they fit well in various sizes of rooms. If you want the convenience of this style without the additional height, a counter-depth refrigerator is the way to go. We've tested many of models, and this Frigidaire model has a higher than average score in our ratings for its low cost and thoughtful features like an adjustable temperature drawer.
But it also has a couple of nagging problems. Our tests show that the FGHB2866PF can get very hot often in the freezer and become uncomfortable hot in the hottest shelves of the refrigerator. Our heat maps show how temperature changes minute by minute. The butter bin in the orange area in the upper right corner is especially warm during our test period. This might not seem too awful at first glance, but it means the fridge is spending a large portion of its time above 33 degrees.
It's worth mentioning that this model isn't Energy Star certified, which could be important for some buyers. The issue is that it's not a top-quality fridge, and the absence of top-of-the-line features and a sturdy construction make it hard to recommend over more expensive options in this price range.
This Frigidaire refrigerator is like the stainless steel version you might see at your local appliance store. It's a safe choice with a brushed finish that looks good and is resistant to smudges, but it doesn't make a lot of an effort to set itself apart from competitors that are more feature-rich and more affordable.
If you're looking for a counter-depth french-door refrigerator but don't want to spend an excessive amount of money, the FGHC2331PF could be worth looking into. It has enough storage space for many families, and does a good job of keeping food fresh. Even even if it's not a green model, it's a lot cheaper than our top-rated models.
